We will offer professional childcare for our participants during EES2022 in cooperation with the Family Service of Leibniz University Hannover. For further information, please contact the organizers at email@example.com.
Hannover has its own airport (IATA code: HAJ). The airport is roughly a 20-minute train ride from the city centre (Hannover HBF) on the S-Bahn no. 5 line. (S-Bahn tickets can be bought at the station or via the GVH website.) The Hamburg, Bremen, Frankfurt, and Berlin airports are all also a relatively short train ride away from the Hannover central station. See the Deutsche Bahn website for further information on specific connections.
The city center of Hannover can be reached via the A7 and A2. The A2 provides a fast and convenient route from the directions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin, while the A7 leads straight to Hannover from Hamburg or Munich. Please note that Hannover city centre is an environmental zone, which means that only vehicles with a green environmental badge are allowed into the central “Cityring” (roughly downtown, including Leibnizhaus itself). For more helpful information on maps and current traffic situation, see the City’s official website.
Hannover central station (Hannover HBF) can be easily reached by train from multiple cities. For further information on connections and departure times, the Deutsche Bahn website. For information on the S-Bahn and subway connections within Hannover city, see the GVH website.
Reaching the Leibnizhaus
The Leibnizhaus can be reached by foot in about 15 minutes from the central station. Simply head west towards the “Marktkirche” (the giant church on the west side of downtown, about 5 blocks or so down the road that leads west out of Hannover HBF) and then go down the small street “Kramerstraße” that’s just west of the church (if you’re coming from the city center, it’s behind the church itself). At the end of the street, you will see the fountain and the historical front of the Leibnizhaus. To get to the Leibnizhaus from Hannover HBF by subway, you can take the S-Bahn 3, 7, or 9 (the direction is to “Wettbergen”, “Empelde”) and disembark after 2 stops at “Markthalle/Landtag”. Head towards the Marktkirche, which should be just to your north and then turn left onto Kramerstraße; Leibnizhaus is at the end of the block.

We can arrange to move your talk online or cancel it as needed. You can find self-tests at pharmacies and grocery stores in Germany. Testing centers are frequent and can be located at: https://schnelltest-hannover.de/en/
At the Leibnizhaus, it is mandatory to wear a mask covering your nose and mouth when you are not seated. These masks can be FFP-2 or medical. Note that on public transportation all over Germany, FFP-2 masks are required.
